Having studied and collaborated with such renowned leaders in violin as Pinchas Zukerman and Itzhak Perlman, Giora Schmidt's acclaim owes equally to his passion for the violin and exquisite technique as a performer. He has appeared with noted orchestras such as the Philadephia Orchestra, the Cleveland Orchestra, and the Israel Philharmonic. As a recitalist and chamber musician, he has performed at the Louvre, The Kennedy Center, and Carnegie Hall.
Schmidt holds seasonal teaching engagements at NYU Steinhardt and the Orford Musique Academy in Quebec, and has taught in the past at The Juilliard School and the Perlman Music Program. His approach to teaching is highly involved and engaging, full of both practical insight and sensitivity.
