Aleksey Igudesman is a celebrated violinist who won’t be put in a box. Not only has he earned due honors as virtuoso soloist, having studied with the renowned Boris Kuchnir and performed with such orchestras as the New York Phil — he has gained acclaim and delighted audiences worldwide as an entertainer, comedian, and composer.
Igudesman has collaborated with prominent film composer Hans Zimmer, pianist Hyung-ki Joo, and other luminaries of the Hollywood and classical music realms, and has produced a series of groundbreaking compositions called Fasten Seat Belts.
Borrowing from the techniques he employs as a performer and composer, he boldly explores the timbre and temperament of the violin through traditional Spanish dances, funk music, and other genres.
